Singer / songwriter Kara Johnstad´s latest CD "Paths X" showcases her talents as a songwriter. A wonderfully silky blend of jazz , folk, and soul. Kara Johnstad´s "exceptionally outstanding voice" (Jazzdimensions) has all the colors of the rainbow.
One of the most versatile voices of our time, her voice has an inspiring range and tons of soul and personality: As a singer / songwriter: she writes great, compelling songs and performs them in the best way possible. This jazz / soul vocalist knows how to sing! Poetic and touchingly pure, she is supported by top internationally renowned musicians and remains true to her self: effortlessly blending different genres.

In 2007 Kara created her own radio show called the ESSENCE, a 2 1/2 hour program dedicated to every kind of music that is high quality, pure and authentic. Once again she beautifully blends world music, jazz, meditation, film, ambient, singer/songwriter and soul. Taking us on a magical journey where we discover with her new unknown top artists and re-discover some of the worlds greatist artists. Within two months of being on air, the show went into syndication. The ESSENCE RADIO SHOW airs weekly and can be heard 24 hours a day, seven days a week through archives at www.globalvortexradio.com, www.bbsradio.com and soon to come to REDDOG MEDIAS station based in Paris, France.

Kara is currently in studio working on her newest album or originals which is scheduled for release Summer of 2008.
